Ferrite beads are passive electronic components that can suppress installations with high electromagnetic noise. They are normally placed around a power/ground line pair that is incoming to a particular device.
When installing a power line filter with an Enphase Microinverter System, follow these requirements:
- Separate the Envoy and the microinverters from other site loads
- Install the ferrite toroid rings between the PV sub panel to the main AC panel. If there is no sub panel, install the toroid rings on the noisy circuit.
- If there is no sub panel, install the toroid rings on the noisy circuit.
There are three methods of use:
- Method 1: Pass the conductors (exclude neutral and ground) through the toroid
- Method 2: For use on sites with high levels of power line noise. Using three toroid rings, loop the phase line conductors (exclude neutral and ground) through the toroid rings.
- Method 3: Only recommended for limited space. Using one toroid ring, loop the phase line conductors (exclude neutral and ground) through the toroid ring.
