The Univesity of Cape Town recently upgraded to the 100kVA Delta UPS with 40 100Ah batteries to support the Electron Microscope Unit in the New Engineering Building.
Previously equipped with the 60kVA UPS, the facility encountered occasional overload issues leading to power cuts. Given the lab's critical role in housing highly sensitive electron microscopes and their attached instruments, uninterrupted power supply is crucial. The new UPS, with its larger capacity and battery bank, not only eliminates nuisance tripping but also accommodates additional equipment, ensuring uninterrupted operations and flexibility for future expansions.
